Before I polished Foxy's headlights today, I noticed a long straight thin line on the surface of the lens.  I think it probably happened on the Ding Day round trip, I think there is the smallest tiny stone impact on the light - would this cause a 6 inch straight crack or is it due to the perspex ageing?   (:< >:)
Ex owners of Chilli red facelift 52 reg called Chilli, silver 55 reg called Foxy and blue pfl W reg MR-S called Sapphire. Now 2 less!

Possibly a bit of both, aged related weakness to the plastic makes it less sturdy to survive the knocks.

yeah age definitely makes them more brittle I think. I took one of mine apart the other week and it constantly felt like it was going to shatter - but did the same with a friends much newer one and it was totally different

Hmmm, thanks guys for the reply.  Perhaps I'd better keep a look out for some decent secondhand ones but I'm not likely to get any that are much younger sadly so may end up in the same boat after a year or so!  I'm not going to Toyota to purchase new ones at £250 each or thereabouts! :'(

I know that's the trouble with second hand ones...the only problems they ever have is just because of age and second hand tends to not solve that!!

I still can't believe how much they cost
