Hi Guys,

I was out and about in the 2 the other day when all of a sudden my drivers side speaker and tweeter (standard fit items) just cut out.

Both the passengers are fine stereo aerial cig socket all working still so not a fuse issue.

The obvious and most annoying cause is wiring which i absolutely hate with a passion! (would rather remove/refit a engine than do anything with wiring)

But before i go ripping the wiring to bits getting irate and nothing electrical working on the car again i thought i would ask you guys see if anyone else has had the same issue?

and hopefully point me in the right direction for the solution! lol

Sorry if my grammar/punctuation is not the best my keyboard skills are awful at best!

cheers in advance........

Probably the connector in the door worked loose from opening/closing or the cable has snapped for the same reason. (Unless you've accidentally turned the balance all to the lhs?

That would be great if it was would that not affect the electric window too though?

Iv had it before with jeeps where it was a common issue but it took everything in the door out.

I thought the same with the balance as soon as it happened unfortunately not.

I dunno will look at the weekend though thank you.

Fairly sure there's a connector in the door panel that the speaker plugs into, fingers crossed it's a poor feed there.

The wiring goes direct from the headunit to the speaker connector in the door. There is no connector in between as there is in many modern vehicles

Pop the door panel off and check for continuity between the speaker and the headunit (Better to check at the tweeter as this feeds both the tweeter and speaker) - it's not a difficult job to run new cable, just a pain if it's needed

Good luck
