Hi guys.
Clarify how stupid I'm being please.

I bought these front spats the other day which are the ones I've seen listed a million times on eBay that "will fit FL and PFL"

Do they? Because they categorically will not fit my PFL bumper.

I think they need to define "fit", some fit in the sense that they match the profile bu you lose the vents, like the one you're holding possibly?

These aren't even close to fitting in my opinion. The RHS has about an inch or so gap between it and the body work.
In the description it says that "you just need to tiger seal them on" I think that may be a little exaggerated. I'm fine with fettling but by the looks of it I'm going to have to make my own from fibreglass.

Yeah, looking again with fresh eyes I'd say return them as not fit for purpose, especially if they were mail order then you've got the additional distance selling regs to fall back on.

They are certainly not designed to fit the pfl bumper.

Whether you could push them on and force them to fit is another matter!

The only pfl spats are full width single piece lips afaik.

The HZ PFL certainly is, full width I mean.

Spoke to the guy who makes them. They're designed for the FL bumper as many have said. But he knows they have been fitted with some succes to PfL.

Options.
1. Cut my losses. Sell them on and get a whole front lip thingy. Which I believe he actually sells.

2. Attempt to make them fit with fibreglass and filler.

What do people think?

Speaking as someone who's currently got skirts that were semi bodged to fit and never going to be happy with then I'd go for the full one to fit.

I'm sure everyone has at least one thing about their cars they wish they'd done differently/better, I'm far from crying myself to sleep over it but they're stuck on, riveted on and I've since screwed other stuff to them so there's no way they're coming off again but given the chance I'd not fit ones that had to be bodged on to any future cars.
Everytime I clean it I see something else wrong with them [emoji23]

They will be a bodge to fit a FL so I'd say sell em and get the correct PFL

They should fit the profile of the pfl bumper perfectly but you will loose half the vent. I believe I was the first person to fit them to a pfl years ago.
So it's either your bumper is mishapen or the spats have been made incorrectly.
I would bet the spats are incorrect.
Another one won't hurt  .....

Another member in the USA bought kevs set and they also fitted perfect.

why don't you test fit on a facelift for reference

Hmmm... I'm gonna have to have mother look at them.

Who's near Southampton with a standard bumper. Mine could well be miss shapen, it's been a little modified.
And I did use to move some plastic bollards on camp a few times.

If I had taken her with I would have had to leave her there.

I had a full standard exhaust, two boxes of nuts, bolts and calipers. And a steering wheel on the passenger seat.

Standard exhaust? Did that come free or are you weighing it in?[emoji23]
Having said that mine is in the greenhouse in case I ever want to cash the Fox in.
There's a lad on Facebook selling a standard manifold complete with heat shields and brackets to the block for £70. I've looked at it a few times and left it alone, only because there's no guarantee the O2 sensors in it are any use...

I have the manifold as well.

Jades car is getting returned to standard so will need the standard exhaust. She doesn't want anything lary apparently. Not yet at least.

Of course, I remember you saying at Shin Ding now. I've got my standard mani still too as an emergency spare. I'll probably keep it as a spare when I get my Zero and pass the Hamish on somewhere.

Pfl lip looks way better than the FL spats so sell them on.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
