Hi I have the chance of obtaining a Mk1 hardtop but I'm unsure that it will fit my Mk2 roadster.

All hardtops will fit any year, it's just PFL and FL silver are different colours

Don't confuse the issue by talking MK1 or MK2 those are previous generations of the car.
All hardtops for the MR2 roadster zzw30 1999-2007 will fit any year.
We have pre facelift 1999-2002.
And Facelift 2003-2007.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Thanks fellows, I'm very new to the MR2 scene (but I'm not so new  :( ) but no doubt I'll get with the correct MR2 terminology as time goes on.
I've got the chance to buy a complete and running but no MOT pre facelift car with hardtop and x4 17" 205 width aftermarket alloy wheels for £400. The wheels are in very good condition but wondered if it would be a backward step to use them on the facelift car?   The car also comes with a boot rack. Oh and good black leather interior,  90,000miles on the clock but not a rattily engine and no smoke.
Would it be a good buy do you think?

Longer answer is because you could sell the hard top and it's fixing kit for around £500, particular a Black that would go with any MR2 mk3 Roadster.
Or as we say on here a 2!
Have a look at the thread " what to look for when buying" but not too intently because as above you are in front before you start.
Let us know how you get on.

Even longer answer if you add it to the above.
The 17 inch wheels aren't to everybody's taste I understand but again you could likely sell or exchange them on here.
Similarly boot racks sell on here if you don't want to keep it.
If it is fitted to a boot/ engine cover of the right colour you could likely get a swop for an undrilled boot / engine cover.
I guess by now you have rushed out and bought it !

I could be interested in a very good black leather interior as my pfl seats are not in the very best of condition ;)

Thanks fellows, looks like I'd better get my finger out and go buy it.  The car is solid black colour.  :)
