Alloy options to replaced corroded originals

I've been quoted £80 a corner to fully refurb my stock 15" PFL alloys. It's really more than I want to spend so I'm investigating the options of buying (the right) used alloys. I'd like to keep at 15s and so far this is the technical detail I've found to help me work out if a used set of alloys will fit:

Front Wheels
Width 15″ x 6″
Offset = et45
PCD = 4 x 100
Weight = 14.6 lbs

Rear Wheels
Width 15″ x 6.5″
Offset = et45
PCD = 4 x 100
Weight = 15.2 lbs

– Center Bore: 54.1 mm
– Wheel Fasteners: Lug nuts
– Thread Size: M12 x 1.5

But I've found out that I need to be aware of:

Centre line
Seating of the lug nuts

And how important is the offset, will I ruin the geometry of my car if I get it wrong or will it not actually matter?

Is there a complete newbs guide to buying aftermarket alloys anyone can point me at?  :(

Thanks

£80 a corner seems a bit high.

MrSloan sells refurbed wheels for less than that in FL sizes.

Will check later.

Thanks, I've had some of this info from MrSloan but I'd prefer to sort something out locally - I'm in Derbyshire.

That's in my budget, can you give me more info?

Just a quick 'caveat'.

When I shopped for wheel refurbishing, the headline price was (sometimes) a mile from the actual price.

Does the quote include VAT?

Does it include demounting and disposing of tyres.

Does it include remounting and balancing?

Worth asking.

£50 per wheel can become £80 or  £90. :o

As Carolyn points out it's buyer beware but these are the details.

They have a Facebook page if you do that sort of thing?
I should point out I can't personally recommend them at the moment but I'm taking mine there on the recommendation of people I trust and on work I've seen.
I'm taking mine tyreless which might have an impact on price but again, give them a call with your requirements and see how they stack up.

Someone who regularly posts on the MR2 Facebook group operates a blasting/coating company over at the Bolsover/J29A business park.  May be worth seeing what they charge

Even in London with tyres removed you can get them done for 50 quid a corner.
Cash obviously.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Caveat 2

If you are going to do it. Do it right and do it once.
Are you in a position to inspectt the quality of the work?

Better to pay 10 15 a corner more and get a proper job than be disapointed and end up getting them done again.

DanRS4x

Any more thoughts on buying used alloys as the alternative to refurb? Have I listed all the variables I need to consider with buying non-stock alloys?

Very happy to be pointed to a website if you know of one?

I paid £70 per corner back in Jan 16 for Foxy but I have to say they still look brand new after 10k miles so even though I perhaps paid a little over the top, I'm well pleased with the finish, etc.  Mind you, I do take care of them, they're not dirty for long! :)
