Plug and play Ecu's piggy back and standalone

Seem to be struggling to come up with any answers on this.

Who in the UK supplies plug and play Ecu's that maintain original dash functions and what other options are available.

I'm midway through collecting parts for a 1zz turbo build.


ECU options (plug and play only) :

Aem ems4
Greddy emanage ultimate
Apexi PFC

Anyothers???

Also people's experiences with any.

I'm aware of the group buy on ecu master,  ut want to look at the plug and play to save having to tailor the car about. I would also consider though being a test mule for adaptronic or similar to create a pnp loom as the car is a weekend car.

Call the midlife!

Initial answer would be that even "plug and play" really needs a professional tune to get the best from your individual setup so I would still consider the Ecumaster in with the rest.

All piggyback keep stock functions. Most have plug/play.
ECUMaster comes with plug/play harness and maintains stock functions

Dastek unichip q+ is most feature-rich piggy, if you can find someone to map it

Link is most expensive (depending on version) but doesn't do nay more than you'd actually need over the ecumaster

Emanage blue waste of time
Emanage ultimate, surprisingly good. Harness is very expensive though

Oh yes, Fully aware that it will need dyno time and a full tune.

I'm just wanting to keep the wiring as stock as possible and forgo the need to splice loom etc.

Having done it in the past is prefer if a plug and play option is available.

If you want a piggyback then its the ultimate but you don't want a piggyback.
Do it once do it right get a standalone which whilst the group buy is valid makes the ecumaster impossible to beat.

Perfect wasn't aware the EMU was plug and play.

Those who have had it fitted is it fitted on site or will they post with a base map?

Trailer to RRR.

Agree. Let Greg map it, the guy is a genius.
You could drive it there if you stay outta boost/ keep the wastegate open. Just make sure you have somewhere to plug in the wideband sensor.

I'm going to drop Greg an email on Monday.

Plan A:  Order loom, ECU (with base map) install at home, drive to Greg out of boost, either wastegate held open/boost pipe disconnected/trail or.

Plan B: Install turbo kit trailor to Greg and have it fitted and mapped.

Only reservation on Plan B is getting booked in and that date holding and not being put back, after reading through the initial issues people have had.

You're not wrong about the issues with plan B, but now I think it's more the duration of time it takes vs the booking date.
He takes his time and doesn't cut corners. So drop it off early AM and expect to be there until 6pm.

There's nothing wrong with plan A to be fair. As long as you make sure everything is plumbed in before you get there. Order the intake air temp and lsu 4.9 wideband before you get there and put them in. This obviously requires wires to be run into the engine bay. Just for those two though.

So that's the only issue I can think of; if you get the harness sent to you with the wiring and connectors already attached for the wideband and IAT, how are you going to get it into your engine bay?

Sliding a plain wire through the grommet is easy. Wiring with a connector is another matter.

And the ecu won't run without these inputs.

He used the wires for the O2 sensors that are already in place on mine. Keeps it neat as well.

Thanks guys, yeah I think I'm going to go with plan A. All sensors are on order, I've no issue with fishing wires through bulk heads or having to snip a couple and rejoin.

I've built a few cars in the past and most recently our adventure style campervan, which required a fair few wires! Full solar install, fully off grid.
