Hey guys,
A question to you: My latch is broken to the point where i need 2nd person to operate it while im pressing on the engine cover so it can open. Anybody replaced it with some lockable hood pins or something like this?

I tried some of the remedies that people posted online but nothing seems to help mine so id like to remove it and get something that can be locked with a key. Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

Carolyn

Sounds as though it's set too tight.  (or has moved that way over time).

You've probably tried this already, BUT...

You could try slackening the two bolts that hold the latch to the chassis, move it upwards.  Tighten it a bit.  See if it will now latch.  If it does - adjust until it behaves and the lid sits as it should.  You might also want to wind in the two rubber stops that sit in the cross-member, as they may be applying too much tension.

I had to play with both my cars to get them latching as they should.

Thanks, ill give that a try next weekend and will report back. I tried only with the rubber thingies, did not mess with the latch itself.
