I'll post this here as it may come in helpful to other people in the future...

Does anyone happen to know if the C's short shift kit for the '2 happens to work on the post '03 facelift 6 speed 'box? I'm having difficulty finding out, and am interested in buying the one SteveM has for sale atm...

Any ideas?

It works.   s8) 8) s8)

The kit you get with it is exactly the same as what you get with the B&M, exept instead of a new rear bolt cap, you get a whole new bolt and nut instead, which I think I prefer.

We all know that the B&M stick hangs over to the left a bit (for the US market), and that it doesn't take you long to get used to it, right? Well, seeing as this is designed for the Japanese market it's the other way around: There's a huge lean to the right, and I for one am really happy with that as it means my hand is off the steering wheel for less time!

In use, it's a cross between the stock and B&M. You still get the shorter action of the B&M, but you do still have to move it a bit further (about half as much as the stock one) to engage gears. I'll be the first to admit I took quite a risk buying this, as after a quick go on LeeUK's B&M I wasn't really taken with the action (too notchy for me), but I was getting fed up with the slack in the stock so was prepared to get used to whatever the C's one felt like; but seeing as this is a cross between the two, I'm a happy bunny.

I can imagine this being a bit harder to source than either the TRD or B&M, but if you want a short-shifter that isn't quite as edgy as the two main ones, then this really is an excellent choice. IMHO, obviously.   s:wink:  s:wink:

Oh, and as a final thought: That stupid little clip that locks the base of the lever to the cables... I want to find a huge pile of those and burn them. Every single one of them. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I spent longer trying to get that back on than actually installing the damn thing!   s:evil:  s:evil:
