Reversing sensors

I recently had reversing sensors fitted to my 2. I was in two minds as to whether to eliminate the warning sounds from the reverse gear select etc.
As I wish to keep the car as standard as possible i left them it in situ.
When reverse gear is selected the warning beep starts and there is another beep from the reverse sensor setting itself. The reversing sensors work alongside the warning beeps.
I have the sound box for the reverse sensor fitted behind the passenger seat so even being partially deaf i can distinguish both sounds ok.
I decided that driving the narrow lanes of Devon, it was best to have sensors as the cost to fit is soon outweighed by the repair bill from reversing into something.

Into the use of someone who always remarks "this car is like a van you just can't see the back" and I don't want to be paying for a new bumper! Any recommendation of kits? I have already disabled the reverse bleep

I've bought a kit that has four sensors.  I have yet to install it becuse the sensors have to be a certain height above the ground.

I want to attach them to the bottom edge of the bumper to avoid drilling mounting holes, but I've yet to test to see if I can make that work.

Have you considered a reversing camera.? Various types, from various sources, including Halfords allowing a look see before buying.

Had thought about a camera but I don't want to mount a screen. I have had a loon to see if you can get one that broadcasts to a phone but haven't looked that close yet

Very likely possible.
Remember that sensors are not all seeing , posts can be missed!

I think I've tried every iteration of reversing sensors; beep, camera on separate screen, camera on touch-screen radio...
If I had to do it again in an MR2, I'd just go the Mercedes-style beeping and LED indicator on dash.

Camera stuff just doesn't work well in my opinion. THe position of the radio is too awkward and there's nowhere sensible to mount a second screen without it looking stupid.
The only exception is if you have a dash pod.

I had these on my car. I've since changed the bumper as this one had lots of damage.

Still got the sensors and could refit them, but I prefer the look of the car without them!

They are steelmate sensors that I colour coded using a rattle can.

Easy to fit. I put the brain in a waterproof box below the light. I pushed the beeper cable through the grommet on the right hand side.
