Spent a couple of hours trying to finish off the wiring today. Had to backtrack somewhat as the wire I wanted to tap in to for the ABS was actually in the cabin going to the ABS ECU, and not to the ABS unit in the frunk. So my ABS switch wires got pulled back through.

Tapping in to the speed signal wire on the PS pump was relatively straightforward, the ABS ign+ less so. Working upside down in a bucket seat is most definitely not a vibe.

It started chucking down so hastily threw everything in the car and ran inside. I'll have to finish it tomorrow if I want a chance of making the final two rounds of Formula G this weekend...

While in the frunk I noticed the RH steering rack gaiter had popped off, so I'll reseat that tomorrow too.

I've also noticed a grumbling on left turns from that side too, possibly wheel bearings, so when I pop the road tyres on I'll check that side for play. I'm hopeful it's not going to stop play this weekend!

In other news, I had my hearing tested. Both ears registered okay, but the difference between the two was a cause for concern, so off to the GP to get referred to an ENT I guess. Such a merry go round. Look after your ears people, noisy cars and motorsport are not kind to them. I've bought some Loop experience hearing protection things to try, hoping it will help things.

Ugh. Hate cars.

Finished wiring up my switch. I will test it on the weekend at Formula G, as I'll have a nice safe space to try it out.

Then I gave the car a good clean. It was filthy... th grass Autotest had left a layer of dirt on everything. In everything. It was hard work! I polished the headlights, and gave the car a cursory rinse down, then cleaned the glass. Not bothered about perfection, it's going to rain this weekend... a lot!

I also swapped the wheels for the road wheels, if I'm driving up in the wet I want to not be on worn AR1s 🤣

While it was up in the air I gave each wheel a good wiggle. The rear right wheel has a small knock when grabbed 12 and 6, so I dived underneath to see if I could spot the issue. I could not. I torqued to spec everything on that side to no avail. I guess it's the bottom upright bearing, but I couldn't see anything move.

All the bushes are looking a little tired so something to do at some point I guess. Being a stiff car with semi slicks on most of the time, it's not surprising that the bushes have had a difficult time.

For now, I'm just going to send it 😁
