Good morning. Has anyone used Neox front suspension shock absorber strut before? MR2 Ben have them for £80.

Cant say I have ever heard of those.

KYBs or sachs are the only makes I have heard. KYBs are often stated as being oem ones. I have read that sachs shocks (on other cars) are thought to be softer than KYBs and they are less common and more expensive.

Plenty of KYBs on ebay and if you can find someone selling and taking part in the frequent voucher discounts you can get them very cheap;

Think autodoc was doing sachs for similar price to kyb the other day.

I'd be tempted to try the koni sport kit if I had to renew suspension on a stock ish car.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Not heard of them myself either. That's £80 for the pair with postage on top. Those same ones are £36.64 each with free postage on eBay.

For the work involved fitting them, I would prefer the piece of mind of something more well known (and pricier) as others have alluded to.

The brand appeared early this year.  MR2BEN is never cheapest for anything. TCB are also offering cheaper struts than KYB. There are a couple of folk on the facebook page who have bought them & are happy, - but no idea of longevity.  Since until this year the only options for struts were KYB & Sachs, & now the aforementioned, plus Ashika (from Autodoc) are listing struts,- the chances are it's the same part.

20% off of KYB as Simon links too is damn good though.

Bear in mind you will likely have to replace the front top-mounts. Ashika/Japan parts are available from Autodoc, - much cheaper than KYB.

Thanks all. So shop around for struts and springs and I need top mounts for the fronts. Anything else i need to put on my list?. Should i do bushes too?

The chances are it'd be 'better' with new bushes, but a lot more work & cost. If you can do it yourself, polybush it. If not there's a Yaris arm that is the same. The front anti-roll bar suffers badly from rust. Check it, I'd say. Polybushes for it?

I've got Neox from ebay. fitted in May and are still working, so all good so far.

I worked in a motor factors a few years ago and we had KYB, Sachs, Monroe & Neox branded shocks & springs on the shelf/available to us.

My boss at the time advised me to avoid selling Neox unless it was requested for (because it's dirt cheap to the trade) and/or we had nothing else to send instead of it and a mechanic was stuck for a spring/shock urgently. He questioned the quality and he was doing the job for 20+ years so I always took his advice.

For the price difference and for the peace of mind, I'd spend the extra €30ish per shock and get KYB.
