Contrary to what some eBay sellers say Kyaba SM5215 does not fit the MR2 it's often listed as such or includes the OEM part number. The studs are bigger even if the PCD is the same.
The japanparts bit appears not to be available in the UK and I am nervous about buying from Europe atm. Anyone had experience with AUTODOC? Berlin based. I think they trade under several names from what I can see
Only other option is to drill out the holes in the body for the stud and I don't think that's a good idea

Yes, I used them once to order Blueprint brake discs (which was according to their website).

A different brand turned up, without being informed of the substitution in advance, and with no dialogue whatsoever.

I wouldn't use them again.

They did collect the differently branded discs and refund me promptly though.

Yes - I've used them several times without issue and as recently as last year, but we were obviously part of the EU then.

I've done my complete front and rear suspension using solely KYB components including the front top mount which I got from AUTODOC. I have posted details on here previously. It's the same part number that you quote, i.e. SM5215 however in this case part is NOT showing as being MR2 MK3 compatible. For whatever the reason the Euro version of the KYB catalogue omits this, however the US version shows it as fitting the Spyder. Bottom line is it fitted without issue on my car, though I did get a mechanic to do the work.

I didn't buy the sm5215 from AUTODOC was just testing experience. The have a japan part listed.
The studs on the sm5215 are definitely too big. Maybe your mechanic drilled out the mounts

What year is your car?. Again, I'd noted someone else who said there were no issues, hence my opting for them.

Do looks like a choice between genuine Toyota or MR2 Ben. Anyone used the MR2 Ben ones?

There's a current thread on F'book Uk Roadster owners..... "I can confirm that the top mounts from a celica gen 7 is identical to the MR2 ones. These were £30 for a pair rather than £60 each"

The person linked to ebay.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/363249572190

BUT they're already out of stock.

Is there an outer sleeve protecting the thread on the new mount or do my eyes deceive me?When you say 'too big' do you mean thickness-wise or are you saying they are too long?

I'm afraid that it does not make sense to me that the SM5215 wouldn't be a direct fit as it exactly as listed in the KYB US CATALOGUE We are saying that the is no difference between PFL and FL and by the same token, there is no difference in this respect to UK and US cars.  All a bit odd!

Someone sent me a screenshot of that earlier after all the fun I'd had in the past with front suspension/arms.  Someone else posted that KYB model number is showing against various models, but the initial post here suggests that's incorrect.

I used RU-2320 which is listed as MR2 specific but the prices have doubled.  Japanparts have their own Celica reference number, and that chap says it's 7mm shorter.

Length is correct the diameter is too iAt least I hope not. If so I've been an idiot. It was late last night when I tried it

Would be good to try and get the comparative specs for the KYBs, the RU-2320s, and the RU-2705.  I found the RU-2320s fairly easily online, but couldn't find the same details for the RU-2705.

EDIT: Sorry it might actually be helpful if I posted up what I'd found

RU-2320

Inner diameter [mm]:
15
Mounting bores distance [mm]:
114
Overall Height [mm]:
47
Number of mounting bores:
3

I'm an idiot😀. Thread protectors. What comes of late night, long sightedness and age. And a short fuse.

Sounds promising then!
