Just thought I'd share my experience with some condensation absorption bags I bought recently.

They're absolutely brilliant I have to say. I've tried so many of these things up to an electric air purifier/dryer and these work best.

Pop them in the car and no more condensation at all.
If the dot goes red, pop it in the microwave for 6mins and let it dry then back in the car.

Pingi. Available on Amazon. Not cheap but great.

I've got some in the house didn't think much of them tbh.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Bit bigger an area...

In the 2 it works a treat.
One bag per car. Doing the trick in both

They had these in Tesco a few weeks back, ended up selling them off for around a fiver but I was still too tight to pay it 😆
Had refill packs too.

The ones in Tesco were, or they might've had an outer cover with an inner bag, either way I still gave them a swerve as mine usually has the windows part down in the garage or I have the big tubs of dessicant in it.

Too rich for me at a fiver.
Then again don't get much with the lid down.

Have the same one in the Mini, to be honest it doesn't seem to do much. Perhaps it works better in the MR2 with it being a smaller cabin.

Still, best thing to do is to run the aircon regularly

Really surprised that you guys haven't had positive reviews of these. I forgot to put mine in the car one day after I "recharged" it and the car was immediately full of condensation the next morning. Put it in and it was all gone.

You'd think if the MR2 cabin was the max of its capabilities, it wouldn't be as quick or effective but barely scrape by.

Odd.

I'd be more interested in why it was so quickly full of condensation, does Sir have a damp patch somewhere?

Topdownman

I used to use something like that in my car and I thought it helped a lot.

It wasnt as hi-tech as that with a colour changing bit but I just popped them on  aradiator when they felt damp so all the water could go into the house!

It eventuakky split and leaked.

Apparently you can make something similar with an old sock and some kitty litter but I dont have a cat and all my old socks have holes in.

I've checked emails and it's the same one purchased in 2015. I've not been using the Mini, so I microwaved the Pingi and put it on top of the dash (in front of the windscreen) when the weather was getting worse a few weeks back.

Windscreen was that wet it froze on the inside lol

I've seen others rave about them on HotUKDeals so maybe it is just the size of the cabin

Effectiveness could also be affected by the kind of interior trim, if there's a lot of fabric to absorb the moisture as opposed to the 2 that's basically leather and plastic so possibly makes the bags seem more efficient in that environment?

:) have these with my Honda  jazz, i still end up with frozen screen inside.
