Good alignment shop around Glasgow?

I am looking to get an alignment done in the coming days however I am not sure if there is something I need to look out for with regards to garage/equipment. KwikFit near me has Hunter laser alignment machine for example which appears, based on searching the web, to be a good machine. Of course for a good alignment you also need a competent mechanic operating it so this is why I am posting here.

Does any of you know of a good place I can take my 2 for four wheel alignment in the Glasgow area? I suppose Edinburgh is also an option since it is not too far to drive if there is someone who is known to be doing a good job on these cars.

Or perhaps I am overthinking this and pretty much any reputable shop will do a good job so I should just book the KwikFit and be done with it. I looked into doing it myself and long term this is something I want to be able to do, but right now I need it done quick and easy as time and space does not allow for me to tinker with this.

Any info is welcome and appreciated!

You nailed it.

It is the op that makes the difference.

Big difference between getting it in spec vs getting how you want it.

i think you are right to look for hunter kit.  For "competent mechanic" read well known locally owned garage.  Find one with a hunter and you shouldn't go far wrong.

Kenneth Brown in Hillington is a race engineer, former single seater champion who's son races at Knockhill.

He looks after many owner's proper racers and also many exotica (Fezzas, Porsches, even saw an original GT40 in there). He'll do a full geometry then test drive it & adjust if necessary. Cost me £120 last time on the MR2. Well worth the money & the confidence Kenny gives you.
Former owner 2003, 2zz conversion.

Thank you for the golden piece of information!! I will get in touch with him tomorrow and see what can be done. I don't mind paying the extra to someone that will get it right.

I done a 160 mile round trip to get mine done a while back.
If you are going to do it. Worth paying to get it done right.
The pay back in enjoyment soon makes the thought of the £s spent evaporate.
Especially on these cars. Accept they will be slaughtered in a straight line, motorway or traffic light grand prix.
But in the twisties, they will dance with the best of them.

I was thinking about it but I don't know how friendly the technician may be. I think I will try Kenneth Brown as I do really want to get this sorted well.

I agree, it is extremely fun around the B roads and I thoroughly enjoy driving it. That is the reason I am looking for good setup since I have also invested in good tyres. Given that I have done a lot of work already and plan to do some more, it pays to have the car in its best shape with regards to alignment.

A properly sorted geo makes a world of difference.

Automek in East Kilbride know their stuff, or there's Raceworx in Bathgate if you can travel a little further. However, cptspaulding's suggestion sounds good, if you can get in there they'll see you right.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will take a look at all of them and make up my mind where I go. It would appear there are good places near me so I can sort it out easily.
