Fuel injector problems - gone again!

Hi folks,

I'm new to the forum, bought an MR2 roadster about a year ago. I've had no problems with it until this spring when no 4 injector packed up, CEL on, running on 3 cylinders. Got it fixed after getting royally mucked about by my local official dealer.

2 months later, CEL back on, running on 3 again, this time it's no 2 injector that's packed up!

Is this a common problem with the MR2, fuel injectors failing? Other than this I love the car and have had no other problems, not even a blown bulb.

cheers

There have been some injector failures reported, but they are very few and far between. I would say that to suffer two failures on the same car is a bit odd, what fuel are you using? If its from somewhere that also sell carrots and baked beans then I think you may have your answer.

nah I just use your usual branded stuff, shell, esso etc. I'm hoping it's just bad luck but I wonder if there is some sediment/gritty crap in the fuel system somewhere. See if it packs up again! Thanks for the replies.

Did you nuy a new or used car? Cause you never know what the used ones have gone through...  s:? :? s:?
Sure you can live without 500hp, but it\'s languishing.

used, so no I don't know it's previous history too well. Probably been round the track a few thousand times! Anyway it's back now, fixed, they did the recall work on the master cylinder too. Valeted, filled the tank and a free bottle of champagne. Pays to complain about bad service!

Recall?  What recall? Just in GB, or world wide?  I haven't heard of any recall in the States.

Please let us know.
