I am in the process of negotiating a 10" subwoofer deal (Diamond TDX).

I know they are 8" deep. I take it these would fit okay, boxed, into either rear bin on the MK3 MR2.

To be safe I would need to know that the 8" depth would go into the box equal to the circumference of the sub, i.e. 11-12" across

Many thanks

Stu,

if it helps to know i have a 10" Bazooka sub placed in the middle of the cubby hole doors that are bonded together and i have no worries at all in fitting it in, i'll find you a link to the specs on my sub for measurements

Thank you kindly mate, I would be interested in seeing those specs. I intend to run a single 10" from 1 side only, so the 10" won't sit in the middle of the two boxes.

where are you going to put the amp?

monobloc or bridged stereo?

I have an amp dilema

I have a Zapco CK9 XD which is 2 channel but gives 1 KW at 1 ohm from each channel or 2.5kw at 2 ohm bridged. It's not that big an amp but an amazing piece of engineering. This would be the sub amp.

I then need a 4 channel amp to run 2 ways active to the front, so I have 2 amps to locate.

Or I buy a 6 channel amp which does fronts and sub. The Memphis Belle is one that interests me.

Thanks mate I see the depth is only 5" the sub I am interested in is 8.9" deep, which really means that the bin has to be at least 10 or 11 inches deep.

Any chance you could stick a measuiring tape into one of the bins and tell me what the depth is please.

I would be grateful.

When you build the box make a spacer up, enough to let the sub fit. Once done smooth it all in with P38 and then admire your fine work!  Here's one I make earlier:

I have now purchased a Genesis Audiophile Subwoofer 10" which only needs just over 5 3/4 inch deep mounting, so no issue there.

Lee that's a fine piece of work. Which side will this box go into?

Would you be willing to send me the specs on this box as I honestly need all the help I can get.  s:wink:  s:wink:

The box in the picture goes behind the driver's seat, my new box will have the sub in the centre with 6x9's either side of it slightly inverted inwards!
