Help - ABS kicking in on one wheel only

All, would really appreciate some advice when braking hard the ABS kicks in on the front right wheel only. i also notice when cornering hard there is some juddering from this wheel.
i have recently replaced front disc and pads and have four new tyres (Toyos r1)
Any ideas or thoughts? - I'm thinking this has to be suspension related possibly the top mounts? how can i check ?

If the ABS is only working on one wheel and it has been doing it since you have had your discs replaced (I presume under MrT?), then I would take the car back as it sounds like they have done some "other" damage to the car.

If not, then I am no help, but would get it sorted as soon as possible as ABS on one wheel only completely negates what ABS is for. In fact, I would go as far to say as it would be dangerous.......

Also, how do you drive the car if you knew the ABS was kicking in? In normal everyday road driving, I have had the ABS kick in 3 times, once on purpose as I was "demonstrating" the effectiveness of the brakes to my mate and twice in emergency situations. In any other circumstances other than a track (where I have to say the ABS kicked in a LOT on mine when I went), the ABS should hardly ever kick in unless you are driving the pants off the poor thing! s:wink: :wink: s:wink: s:lol: :lol: s:lol:

mine goes off nearly ever pothole i hit when brakeing and unfortunatly theres a lot of em round here, are the abs sensors on the caliper themselves, if so i'd have a look at the connections for corrosion etc

Really? Blimey. I live in the backwaters of nowhere and the roads around us are still built for horses ( you think I am kidding. I live in Newmarket. Bloody horse capital. Waking me up at 6.30am on a Sunday morning trotting past my house...........grrrrr.......) and the holes in the road are a disgrace to be honest and the ABS has NEVER kicked in over one of those. Admitedly, some of them are so bad that you have to back off a little, especially as it feels like I am going to shake the car to bits (no breast plate.....), but they still shake the car to its core. Unusual one that one Kanu. I wouldn't say there is necessarily anything wrong with yours, just maybe a little over sensitive maybe? s:? :? s:? s:o

its was doing it b4 i changed the disks, the disks were 'warped' and i thought this was the reason.

However, it still happens when i brake sharply (your right i drive it quite hard - thats what a sports car is for IMO) i find it annoying it only appears to be happening on one side and as i said i have also noticed a 'juddering' fron that side when i corner at speed which is why i thought it may be suspension related?

totally agree, can be a bit of a bugger occasionally especially when braking hard for a tight corner s:? :? s:?

Have you checked the tyre pressures?

Mine started doing it yesterday and one front was down by 5psi compared to the other.
