Can you resurface a 2ZZ MWR billet oil pump gearset?

Totally forgot I had this. It was from my first 2ZZ engine that had bottom end damage from low oil. Surface scratches from bottom end shards entering the oil pump housing.

Could this be resurfaced and reused in a new pump housing?

The clearances in a rotary pump are so critical that removing enough metal to re-finish would greatly impair the pump's performance,I fear.

What about just leaving it as is then? Cant see how light scratches to the face of the gears would affect the pumps ability to move oil. Its the teeth that presumably do all the work?

@JB21,

As tyou say, it's probably best to leave it as it is - the more metal on there the better.
