A lot of folk dont know this, or want too, manufacturers make standard parts for various brands eg, I purchased a cam corder (remember them) many years ago, did my research, JVC was £599, Phillips was £499, Minolta was £399, yep, you guessed it, all exactly the same device, different brand name

Computers are no different. Pull your TV and your PC monitor apart and you'll probably find the LCD panel is made by LG. A Dell printer, for example, might be a HP or Canon inside.

There are few manufacturers of components for electronic equipment. I guess the same can apply to vehicles.

My understanding is that KYB are Manufacturers with factories in various countries.
NAPA - The National Automotive Parts Association, also known as NAPA Auto Parts, founded in 1925, is an American retailers' cooperative distributing automotive replacement parts, accessories and service items throughout North America, ps and recently further  afield

So, it is possiblethat KYB make the shocks that others sell under another brand name, but unlikely vice versa.
