2006 MR2 mk3 Facelift
Milage: 127,846
Sable grey, hardtop, heated black leather seats, air con.
1ZZ turbo - ~193hp at the wheels (when mapped -may be more now due to less restrictive exhaust and intercooler pump was not correctly running when mapped)

Price: £6000

Not advertised anywhere else at the moment, I keep it here for a while but if no interest will advertise on the MR2 turbo facebook groups.
I typed this on the plane and will try and go through my records to add more dates and details.

Bought in 2015 at 84,000 with full toyota service history - I continued to have it serviced at toyota until engine was changed and then serviced myself

In Jan 2019 at around 110k miles the engine was replaced - Radiator leak caused coolant loss and engine to overheat and the damge was done before I saw the dial and stopped.
Engine was changed for a younger 1ZZ via Dean at Rutland MR2 - I was told this had 57k miles on it.

At 119k miles I decided to turbocharge it, this was done by myself and mapping by RRRengineering

Reason for sale is I now live abroad and it doesn't make sense to import it. I had a job offer and moved midway through the project so got it in working order and running with low boost and have since driven 8700 miles in it before being having to sell it. I would otherwise want to keep it and up the boost, plus treat it to some body and chassis work.

POWERTRAIN:
Specs are:
Turbo from a SR20DET - I believe the Garret model number is GT2554R
2ZZ yellow injectors
Mamba wastegaste actuator - lowest 5psi spring was fitted for mapping but bigger springs included
Aluminum 76mm inlet/outlet large water charge cooler
19mm hosing to a cinquecento charge cooler radiator at front fed by a second hand Bosch water pump
Turbokits manifold, 3" exhaust into a 200cell sports catalyst. This then feeds into a T split with two 2" outlets (left and right), one goes via a 2" silencer which is quiet.
The other end used to go through a boost activated valve, but this was removed by an overenthusiatic exhaust garage in Zagreb as it wasnt plumbed in at the time.
The cheap valve never worked quite as well as I wanted to I didnt pay to get it welded back in, but put a motobike exhaust baffle on the second outlet - I believe this is restricted the top end power at the moment.
It's up to the next owner if they want to try and get a valve on that pipe and have an active quiet/loud exhaaust or just replace from the T-shape down with a simple 2.5" or bigger system.

ECU Master EMU Black mapped by RRRenginering - acheiving around 190whp before the injectors start reaching their limit. First year RRR connected over the web to get the map rigth for MOT - this year it went through with no problems
ECUmaster has the bluetooth/datalogger attachment so I use a phone with the app for monitorring. The plan was to install a new android head unit with the app but due to the ship shortage these have been hugely overpriced the last couple of years.

There were some cold start problems - I understand these are hard to tune for until you have cold weather. It failed to start once when I drove back through Austria and it had been -5 overnight. I've since increased the ignition fuel enrichment at cold temperatures on the map and it's not failed me since.
After being mapped I drove it 1000 miles to Zagreb, all around the coast and to Budapest and back multiple times, then back to the UK  and the car has been reliable.
There is sometimes what feels like a misfire and random stutterat 2500rpm if you cruise at that speed but the knock sensor has never picked anything up in the logs.
Only thing to keep an eye on if the charge cooler circuit has a small leak - only when you drive it so not when sat on the driveway. If you check or top up every other time you fill up with fuel you will be fine - otherwise it can go low and you'll have to faff around to get air lock out - but even if you were to reach this stage as I once did the cooler has large themral mass so IATs are only going to be a problem after sustasined hard driving.

CHASSIS:
Rear calipers recently replaced with refurb units from Simon - unfortunately since then the previously fine handbrake now has the typical MR2 problems. Painted a nice yellow colour
Dampers and Springs changed at 90k miles to stock springs and koni dampers
Rear subframe had some fairly bad surface rust when I did the turbo installation - but not bad for this age of car and no holes. I wirebrushed it with an angle grinder and coated with anti-rust primer with the view to replace the subframe with a nice new one.
I would replace the rear subframe and refresh all the bushes but leaving that to the new owner to decide between polbushing and rubber.
Poly rear engine mount included but not yet fitted
Original facelift wheels in need of a refurb
Front has Toyo T1Rs fitted - plenty of tread but around 5 years old now and some cracking - need replacing IMO soon but no advisories on MOT
Rear has Continental premium contact 2s on - these are 1 year old and 8700 miles
Steering UJ replaced with refurbed joint in 2020

Body:
Interior leak was found and footwells cleaned of rust and resprayed - see images
See pictures for headlight condition - front fogs are brand new so highlight the fading of the headlights
Rear lights - I lightly tinted the rear brake light lenses - then lost one on a French motorway so have replaced with a new lens - this should be tinted to match or another £40 new lens to match.
Paint generally OK - but front bonnet is scratched up from a car wash. I had a minor collsion at 10mph so the front has been debadged courtesy of a mercedes rear bumper.
Hard top has minor scratches.
Soft top was replaced with a good condition used one a few years ago after someone vandalised the original. No leaks - small tears at the bottom as per images
Door speakers have been upgraded - Sony BT double DIN head unit fitted - original included
Dynamat fitted to doors, floor and rear panels after interior respray to reduce road noise/increase audio quality - but ht eloud exhaust currently drowns all that out at the moment

I have a set of 4 RX8 injector I can sell but 1 of these suffered from some inpatient use of an angle grinder instead of being filed down.
Tein lowering springs unopened box
MAC boost controller unftitted
