I have programmed the key, however it only opens the car up and locks. Unfortunately I can't get the immobiliser transponder to work unless I get it done by a professional key programmer. I might try and get this done next week hopefully

Programming the immobilizer is similar to the steps for the key functions. I am sure you have already tried this though from the sounds of things.
Hope the sale goes well 😃

Quote from: Mr2highpeak on August 11, 2022, 16:46Hi I'm selling my mr2 roadster simply because I don't fit in it comfortably as I'm too tall for it at 6'4  and its giving me back problems.

It's a silver 2005 mr2 roadster with 76k on the clock.
It's not perfect but runs well.
The good bits.
New clutch fitted
4 Bridgestone turanza t005 tyres fitted with nearly new tread.
Alloys are in great condition
Brakes all recently replaced
Had a full service spark plugs, air filter, oil filter and oil.
Rear subframe replaced.
Precats removed.
Heated leather seats
Gt86 steering wheel fitted although I do have the original one.

Not so good
One key although I do have one cut and it has the chip inside just needs programmed.
No service history
Roof not great it has a rip at the drain pockets and is sometimes stiff to open up.
Occasionally engine light comes on code p1349. Doesn't seem to effect the car running.
In that all said I think it's a good example for its age but obviously needs bits doing to it.

12 months mot no advisories
I'm asking for £1950 no offers.
Please pm me if you are interested

do you think I'm selling it too cheap ?

I'm not one for talking up prices unnecessarily and who can say without seeing the car - ultimately it's your call. However there's a lot of positives here - subframe, brakes, been serviced, tyres aren't cheap rubbish, new clutch, full MOT i.e. all the stuff you'd reasonably expect to budget for when buying one of these.

To be honest I've priced it cheaper on here by a few hundred as I'd like it to go to somebody who appreciates it. I'm sure I could hold out for another 500 if I was patient enough, but with winter coming and not using it I'd like it to be moved on.

Fair play, it's good to see cars being kept in the club as chances are they'll go on for many happy miles. Probably a lot of nervousness in general at the moment with the price of everything which is unfortunate for selling.

Yeah it's a bad time, I'm just getting daft offers from chancers, I think I will just cover it up and wait until the spring maybe.

I really like my 2 but jeeeze when I see these deals I realize I should have done more research before buying mine !!!

I like the seats.

Initially I thought that was about right when I consider how much I paid for mine in June this year especially with the used car market price being on a downward trend since the end of last year.

Then I thought that I'd have a look at what's around now & I see yours on the sticky tree at the lower end of the price bracket, so maybe prices are firming up a bit because when I was looking there were plenty under £1500, yes most were dogs with over 100k miles but there was a lot of choice of reasonable lowish milers at the £2-3k mark within an hours drive for me, and that's the asking price, not the selling price.
There's definitely a lot less for sale now; I guess that could be one reason for the price hike, either that or prices are really on the rise again for the roadsters.
Also there were & still are a lot of chancers asking silly money as they probably over paid when the bought at the height of the market during Covid; which was definitely the case of a couple of private sales I saw because they had only been owned a year or so but asking £4k for a rust bucket with undeclared faults :o
