2004 Silver MR2 Roadster with nice spec and full service history

Thinking of selling my beloved MR2, so just putting the feelers out there at the moment and seeing if ive priced it correctly.

I have lots of photos available but here is the advert:

Due to personal circumstances I have decided to put my pride and joy up for sale. I have owned this car for almost two years and have loved every minute of driving it. I bought the car in May 2021 with 92.000 miles on the clock, and being owned by a friend of a friend  for the few years before my ownership, I knew that the car was looked after and that the service history was perfect. It has currently no MOT however, I believe it would sale through the next one - I can also say that it's never been, at least for the last 7 years, being ragged around, smoked in or having any pets in the car.

This car has full service history, being serviced at regular intervals (please see below). Since it's been my own hands, I serviced it after only 2.5k miles, using only fully synthetic quality oil. A lot of money has been spent on it, especially since I've owned it again, with a £350 Pioneer DAB Applecar Headunit with a reverse camera installed, £150 TTE StyleBar installed, £150 Sub/Amp installed in the regress of one of the rear storage bins (doesn't take hardly any room) and various cosmetic items to make sure that the car still stays in touch with the look of its modern day equivalents. I understand that not everything I've done might not be to everybody's taste, but I have kept all original parts like the look of what I've done and will be included in the sale.

The car has now done 97,500 miles and during my ownership has had :-

•   k&n air filter installed
•   replacement drivers side headlight (from Dick) due to yellowing of previous one
•   painted brake callipers red
•   pioneer headunit DAB
•   amp/sub installed in rear bin
•   Oil and filter change at 94,367 miles
•   New battery with 5 year warranty from halfords


As you can see I have tried to keep the car fully serviced with only quality products and premium lubricants used, and have done most of the work myself. The car has been my weekend hobby and my 3rd car its ownership without any faults – hence the very low miles. Starts first time, every time and has never let me down once! This is a very reluctant sale, I would love to keep it, but a new baby on the way I need to free up some funds and some driveway space for a larger car reluctantly.

Along the way, I have added a few other tasteful modifications which I will include in the full specification below.

Engine

97,500 + miles – Full service history, uses and loses no oil or water and has no issues as far as I am aware. K&N air filter fitted.

Suspension and Steering

Standard suspension throughout with no knocks or noises. Car feels solid and holds the road well. Steering has no issues as I know of.

Gear Box and Clutch

Clutch has been changed in the cars life but not by me. No issues with gear changes. 6 speed gearbox.

Wheels and Tyres

Standard wheels have been refurbished by myself in metallic Mercedes silver and still look ok but they have suffered from the usual corroding issues unfortunately. They look good, great from far away, but who goes really close to someone's alloys?? Tyres are all good.

Exhaust

TTE dual exit exhaust, Is not over the top with noise. Looks and sounds great!!!

Brakes

Standard discs and pads front and rear with plenty of life left in them. Handbrake is perfect with no binding and holds firm on two clicks. Callipers painted red all around.

Interior

 Overall, the condition of the interior is great Usual wear to drivers' side seat on bolster which has been repaired by myself using autoglyn scuff master. Seats and door cards are in black leather

Modifications to interior include:

• £350 Pioneer Apple and Andriod Carplay headunit, with Bluetooth, aux in, 2x USB, etc
• Interior light bulbs swapped for LED's
• Chrome dials for heather controlls
• Mats returned to originals

Security and keys

• Standard alarm and immobiliser. No problems, all working great
• 3 keys present, two full keys (one a flip key)one valet key

Exterior / Bodywork Modifications to exterior include

• Crystal clear side repeaters
• LED bulbs in brake lights and night breakers installed in main lights
• Debadged rear
• Front Toyota badge changed to JAP style front badge
• Replaced yellow/faded drivers side front headlight
• Rear spoiler added

Condition of bodywork

Has the complete TTE Rear trim, side skirts and front splitters.

The car polishes up very nice on the whole, Does have a few age related marks being 19 years old however, this does not upset the overall appearance of the car and with a good coat of wax is hardly noticeable. The car has never suffered any rust issues.

The car does have a working electrical aerial. Soft top is in great condition does not leak at all.

Summary

 In my opinion, this is a very clean example of a mr2 roadster, yes there are £1000 mr2s out there, but can't be many with as a comprehensive servicing record. The car is a real eye turner with nice modifications which can be reversed easily if desired, as original parts are included in the sale once a price has been agreed. I would like to sell the car as it stands but I will remove parts and sell separately to re-coupe any losses. I am no boy racer and believe in looking after my cars. I love this car and spend more time cleaning and maintaining it than driving it.

I have priced this car at £3000 ono. This is a reflection on its overall condition, level of maintenance, and what additional parts are included at this price. I would love the car to go to someone on the forum and I don't want to put the car on flea-bay and be messed about with tyre kickers if I can help it.
