Im over the moon.

This is after a lovely bank holiday weekend....

Apparently the old dear that drove up my a*se, didn't actually know that where the brake was on an automatic Audi. (It was her work car) I was stationary indicating right into my gym when I felt a rude awakening up my backside.

I am the proud owner of a rental grey VW Passat at the moment. Just the thing to go well with summer! I've been told my car will be in the bodyshop for a while, as because its an import (I explained that I would be happy to put on a European grill at the back) the parts will have to be sourced from Japan.

There is a slight bit of chassis damage, so that totalled with importing parts maybe mega bucks. I decided to be honest as well and not go up the whiplash path. But as long as Im not out of pocket, Im just concerned with a paint good job being done and lights matching etc...

Ooooh!

Didn't know where the brake pedal was !!!!!    s:shock:  s:shock:    ITS THE SAME PLACE AS NORMAL  s:roll:  s:roll:

If that's her excuse, she shouldn't be on the road. More likely talking on her mobile, or checking out the lippy   s:evil:  s:evil:

At least you are OK. Don't see however why you cannot get an open top sports car as a replacement. Fight for it, her insurance is paying. May have to be an XKR or TVR though  s:wink:  s:wink:

I am so sorry to see that this had happened to you...I had a similar experience a few years ago.. I posted this as it is interesting to see that they have almost the same "injuries" .   I think that they should build the car out of the material for the indicator bulbs - yours survived as well I see!  If you want a european rear grill in a hurry I think I may still have mine in the garage somewhere.

You will get bothered by alot of people ringing you up from companies specialising in compensation, I didn't go down that route either - just nice that you got out uninjured.  Hope its all better soon.

Oh how I recall being stationary in Kerstie's focus a few years ago at some red lights behind 3 other cars - when oh bang

Old couple hit us.  He got out and said it was a new car and he wasnt used to the controls!...what is it with these folk!

Funnily enough though he had just narrowly missed a pedestrian, who came over and started having a go at him and called the police...who turned up.

We got a letter later in the month from Staffs Police saying they wherent taking matters any futher.

Now if that had been a kid in a nova, he would have been breathalised at the scene and done for driving with due care.

Yep, enquired about a decent convertible, apparently I was too young at 24. At least thats a bit of bright side I suppose knowing Im still too young for something. So it was a VW Passat or a Rover 75 and I don't like Rovers, plus I don't quite want to look like Im retired just yet....

P.S Liz, thats quite remarkable, your right your cars injury was nearly exactly the same!

I know, my tongue was in my cheek promise  s:wink:  s:wink:   - I have called women drivers various names over the years I can tell you, they do let the side down some of them...I am sure that this dozy bints  insurance company will be impressed with her excuse!

What is it with old people, the silly moo that took the bumper out on my calibra was 85 years old and had had 2 accidents in as many months - the Police NFA'd her but banned her from driving, do old people have to have a retest, thats if they passed on in the first place of course, alot of people never had to have one!

Ooh thats a nasty one, In these days of equality and all that boring stuff you would have been well within your rights to drag the old biddy from her car and kick her to death! Leave her sploshing about in her own guts, yeah!

I dunno, perhaps thats a bit harsh but I'm just thinking how p1ssed off i'd be if someone did that to my car. Not keen on old people either, they're stupid and they smell!

Careful   s:wink:  s:wink:  I'm 71 and can still manage a 4 wheel drift (on track) which some younger squids apparently have trouble with. Also, just got my 200K mi. certificate from BMW motorcycles. Maybe you Brits age faster with all that rain?   s:lol:  s:lol:  You may have me on the smell part, though.

Thanks! Didn't tell you that most of the time I end up going backwards through the weeds   s:lol:  s:lol:
My condolences to the gentleman who got rear ended. Nothing can be said to fix the utter frustration that goes with these misfortunes.
Our fear over here is the ditzy blond talking on her cell phone while driving her tank of an SUV. Also, Volvos seem to be attracted to bikes, hence the expression "I was Volvoed".
I really enjoy your forum.  Thanks   s:) :) s:)

That rings a bell!!!

A motorcycle with two people crashed on me the second month I had it!!!

I had just stopped at a light, and the guy hadn't seen it, he pressed his brakes, the motorcycle stood on the front wheel and both the riders with the bike crashed sideways on me!

Your indicator bulb survived that as well!!!  How strange that 3 of us have had accidents with almost identical car "injuries"...

Do you mean that the riders ended up in your car? I suppose it would be quite easy for that to happen and could be very painful.
