(£40 fitting included)

Anyone know if this is the normal price or where i could get one cheaper?

Cheers Marc!

I'm gonna call them now!  Think i could owe you a hell of a lot of favours!!!

The garage told me that it has seized (spelling) up!

Also said that they could not fit any used parts, but i could get it fitted and take it back for a re-test.

I will let you know what they say!

Thanks again!

Cheers mate, that would be great although it is an Offside rear that i am after!

Marc,

Just spoke with with Big gred,  I asked if they stock for MR2 2000up and he said he only had 91 which would be the mk1.  He can strip mine and re-assemble for £70.  for those interested, they can coat them for £20 a pair which can take up to 10 days.

cheers,

Viggs

£70 per caliper I take it?

Stu I'm having a set of 4 done as soon as he can do them.

At that point he will have my old ones back and then he will have a set in stock. These he can do for you and then you send your old ones back.

Is the coating coloured?

Can they do them coloured, or can you paint them afterwards?

The stock coating is gold anodised, the red colour is extra, when i needed 4 he said he didnt have and couldnt get any, otherwise he would have a (my)full set in by now. The only reason i didnt send mine in was that i would have a car with no calipers for over a week!, untilhe gets a spare set (which i now have - although siezed) he cant do exchanges

Ill have a word with him and see if they will be any good

I've got the caliper and will have the re-test on Monday.  The garage who are doing the MOT are asking £40 to fit it.  Anyone ever done this themself or know if places like ATS etc do this??  I was going to pay the £40 but thought it was worth asking you guys.

I did mine myself and it isnt overly difficult really and takes 45 mins to 1hr(unless the bolts are rusted - bloody handbrake lever gave me a bloody hand!!) however it is a mucky job just make sure everything is as clean as possible and bleed the system after

Also it may be an idea (depending on the age of the replacement caliper) to clean and regrease the slides prior to fitting

Good luck  s:!: :!: s:!:    s:!: :!: s:!:

Thanks to all who replied!  It's all sorted and passed without any more problems!  I decided to pay the garage to fit the new caliper as i didn't feel to confident.  Thinking of painting them now!

Thanks again,

Viggs
