Hi all,

Looking to sell my 05 plate MR2 on 109k miles in sable grey, previously owned by @shnazzle on here. I would rather it stay with someone in the club if possible and also gauging interest as I have been tempted to keep many parts from it and break the rest (the car is worth more in parts than it is as a whole unit).

The car is slightly scruffy but mechanically sound. It has an MOT and no advisories. I've used it for a handful of track days and used it on the road now and then - this has meant that I have kept it in tip top mechanical condition with multiple services to the engine, gearbox and braking system.

Price with hardtop: £2150

Reason for sale: I have a 2zz MR2.

Located in the West Midlands, 10 miles north of Birmingham near Walsall/Sutton Coldfield.

Good bits:

BC coilover suspension in good working order. I had it refreshed last year with new top mounts (front) and springs all round.

Silver hardtop with fitting kit.

Red leather seats.

Heated seats.

Aircon.

4 almost new Toyo TR1 tyres.

Replaced valve cover gasket.

Baffled sump (this is a standard 1zz sump with a baffle welded in by @Carolyn).

Replaced rear control arms with good.

New front a-arms/control arms, drop links, and steering rack inner rods plus 4 wheel alignment.

4 Refurbished calipers.

Rear subframe is in good condition. I did have some welding work done to it when I first got the car and it has held up perfectly ever since, getting through multiple MOTs.

Handbrake cables replaced in my ownership.

Pre-cats were gutted many years ago.

The aerial still goes up and down.

Last MOT had no advisories.

Former keepers: 3.

2 keys plus the third "valet" key.

Various bits of documentation plus original owners manual etc.

Not so good bits:
The panels have seen better days but the car scrubs up alright.

You will want to re-gas the aircon. I have never used it but when testing it, the compressor does come on.

Of note, the driver's side rear quarter panel has a dent and some scratches and there are some scratches to the sill on the drivers side. I have a silver quarter panel that will go free with this car if you want it. This was as a result of side-swiping the tyre wall at Mallory Park, all damaged components replaced (headlight, door, front quarter and front control arms - except for the quarter panel mentioned) resulting in it driving better than ever.

Soft top has no glass but I have replacement glass available to go with the car for free.

Just an update to say I'm keeping it for now. Making use of it as a daily hack and being used by another family member too. There's been very little interest in it, and the interest I have had from social media has basically been not worth my while (time wasters, the usual etc.). So I'm keeping it on the road and may even ending up running two 2s or breaking it later. Hardtop will be available separately at some point.
