Know anything about MR-S alarm systems anybody????

I'm trying to locate the alarm/immobiliser control on my MR-S.  I've looked under the dash, behind the cover in the footwell and under the centre console...

Any ideas would be most welcome.

Do you know what the make of it its?

With it being a MRS is it not an aftermarket alarm?

Is there a sounder unit?

I'm guessing under the bins, or maybe in the engine or frunk area near to one of the fuseboxes?

Probably of zero use here, but my aftermarket (fitted presumably by the importers)alarm needed ripping out last year along with miles of cable due to increasingly faulty spurious alarms going off.
iirc the key guru who performed this task had to isolate the control unit that I am convinced was either in a locker behind the passenger seat or the engine bay ....not anywhere near the dashboard

When i stripped mine out for track/racing i seem to remember something of that nature being around the rear bins/back of handbrake area

Bins out - nothing there.  Bins back in.  Panel under the driver's side dash dropped the the third (fourth) time).  Centre console out and trace the wire from the proximity sensor that is in there.  Wire goes forward under the carpet.

The plot thickens... trace the wire round the back of the stereo across the top of the compartment above  the dropped panel... much waggling of wire to follow it through a maze and it arrives at a black box that I know is the immobiliser.

I thought that it was in addition to a receiver unit that is operated by my fob.  I put my stethoscope up to the immobiliser and operated the fob.  It clicked.  The black box is the unit I'm looking for! BUT - there's supposed to be a label stuck to it with a code number to be used to programme a spare fob (which is the object of the entire exercise).  No label.

So I do some digging and get the phone number of the manufacturer (Autowatch).  I get through to a back room boffin who tells me the code may well be on a label on the back of the box, which can be dropped without messing with the wiring, by removing one screw.

If it's not there, he tells me to open the plastic case (four screws - still no messing with the wiring) and it will be on a label stuck to one of the relays.

Hopefully, tomorrow I shall be victorious and I will then have a spare remote fob in case the very old one I have dies.

Today:  Back under the dash and going straight at the immobliser.  The one screw that is holding it in place is somewhat butchered. It takes several attempts with different screwdrivers until I get one to achieve some purchase on the screw head.  Bit by careful bit the screw comes out and I can drop the case to where I can get at.

The four screw holding it together come out no fuss and I'm in.  There are four labels with numbers on but only one with a five digit number, which is what I'm after.

I take a photo of the label (I can no longer rely on my geriatric short term memory) and in ten minutes the car is back together.

I have two sets of instructions for the dance now required.  It involves switching the ignition on and off while counting the flashes of the alarm indicator light.  Neither set is crystal clear.  There are at least three interpretations as to the correct procedure.

After about seven attempts... HEY PRESTO!!!
