Good afternoon all.
I'm contemplating having a new mohair hood fitted. This is something of an extravagance as my OEM hood is still in excellent condition, but I really like the mohair hoods! My question is, how much would the original hood be worth if I sold it to recover some of the cost do you think? Cheers.

Very hard to say.

Only what some one is prepared to pay.

Some may value an oem higher if that's the way they're wired. Others just see an old roof.

Always a risk in damaging when removing.

A stab in the dark with many provisos,as a rough estimate maybe £150-£175, better if you could source your replacement mohair roof from a 2nd hand source eg J-Spec or Dick Sloan (I got one fitted by the latter frame included, for £200 it was in 'as-new' condition).
ps :- maybe a short wait for them to get a mohair roof into stock + then must act v quickly, as they disappear v quickly as so popular.

Aye, that's about what I thought, thanks. The thing is, I'm a bit reluctant to change the whole frame as the seals on mine are like brand new and I doubt any replacement would be as good.

I've never had one, my 2 already had a canvas roof when I bought it.

But I have to say I do find a well cared for oem vinyl a thing of beauty.

@TheTigerUK thinking of yours here.

Other than being able to drop mine regardless of temp. The oem in good condition takes some beating.

J-spec have been selling very good second hand roofs for between £400-£600 recently.

Was going to say... I think I paid 230 for one with a small rip in the usual place (end of seam by drain pocket).
If yours is in good nick it's likely going to fetch 250-300.
Personally I wouldn't bother...
...neutiquam erro.

Yes, I don't think I will until I need to. Thanks everyone.
