Unconnected harness

Hi Guys

Just wondering if anyone knows what this unconnected harness is behind the Head Unit. Found it while fitting a new head unit. It's a 2001 raodster

The oem head unit uses 3 connectors if my memory serves me right. Aftermarket ones can use less connectors as not all the wires are necessary.

Yeah the wiring for the pre facelift head unit has more connections than necessary for a replacement

Could it be for an optional CD changer unit?
