Hi all, just doing the caps maf mod and taken old injectors out but the donut washer are stuck in place for all 4 injectors. Should I keep trying to get them out of just put the yellow injectors in over the washers that are in place. I would love to get them out as I have all new ones for the yellow injectors but what is best to do.

Carolyn

Dig them out with a flat bladed screwdriver with just a wide enoungh tip to engage on the hole.

Yes thats pretty much what I'm doing now, I had a really small flat head that I could bend the tip of to make a pick.
3 are out so one left.
I have some maf cleaner so that is the next job then put back with the spacer.
Although I'm not quite sure what veins are on the air box. Are they before the maf and after the filter plus do they pop out or will I need to cut the plastic.
Also doing a valve cover seal while I'm at it.

So doing this as I go, I have taken off the top of the air box and taken out a plastic tube thing that sits above the filter by pushing a little tab and pulling it out.
inside that slid out a round plastic insert with 2 vertical slats.
So I'm guessing that's the veins....
So what is best to do, remove the veins and put back the insert or just put the top back on the filter housing without both parts inside 🤔

Vanes.  I can't remember, but the write-up will tell you whether to remove them....I'd doubt it though.

The vanes are upstream from the maf.

So here are the veins removed

Jared

And they come out of this housing

Jared

So I could leave the housing out like this

Jared

Or I put it back in without the veins

Have a look at my build thread.. pretty sure it's covered in there somewhere (if you can be bothered to search).. I seem to remember that you had to remove a part of the structure of the air box housing.

Yeh I'll take a look now.
What's it called

I was wrong, the VANES should be removed.

Yeh and I've done that it's just do i put the housing the veins come in back in or leave it out. I've ordered a new filter as well now so may as well wait for that to come before putting it all back but I'm enjoying doing the job.

Well since the instructions said remove vanes & not 'the tube'..........

Put this on Spyder chat and Cap himself messaged me back and he thinks (from memory) take both out. Will it change much eather way I'm not sure.

Find the write-up. Or ask someone who's done it.  The maf tube is critical.

Jared

And back together, maf mod done and new gasket in. No check lights and drives fine.
