Improving leg room

Being 6ft 3 inches leg room is an issue.
The wheel is at highest setting and seat at lowest setting.
The clutch and throttle are just about liveable but the foot and leg angle using the brake is far from comfortable.
If I put the seat all the way back there is leg room, but I can't reach the steering wheel and the seat is so upright that its not only very uncomfortable but vision level is above the window screen lol.
So the solutions are obviously either a smaller wheel or a lower seat position.
Love using a smaller wheel but that has problems such as;
1) MOT failure.........so the hassle of changing it over every MOT time.
2) Reduced safety not having an airbag.
3) Possible insurance issues if occupants injured.
4) Reduced dash visibility.
5) indicator storks harder to reach.

Don't mind problems 2-5 that much but number 1 is a balls ache.

Although thanks to 'rusty0273's valuable information it might be an option.

The other solution is a lower seat.
A bucket seat is the obvious solution but I find the upright position in them very uncomfortable.

I'm thinking if there is a way of using the existing seat but doing away with the seat rail?
The seat rail looks around 6cm high so doing away with this would most likely remedy the situation.
So I have 3 questions please.
1)Below is a photo of a bucket seat holder for the roadster.......could I attach the standard seat to this if drilling the appropriate 4 holes?
2) Is there such a thing as a smaller steering wheel (300mm) that includes an airbag?
3) Is there such a thing as a bucket seat that is more reclined and not so bolt upright?
Many thanks  ;D

Someone who's 6'4" takes the door handle off I believe.

If the steering wheel higher up would help, - take off the plastics around the column, & the flat one under. Look at the column height pivot. Remove material at the top of the guides & it allows it higher-up. It reduces the current gap between column & instruments to zero.

That is super helpful and just the kind of secret trick I was looking for 👏
Yes,it's the bottom of the steering wheel that is the problem so raising it up further would massively help.
Will have a good look at that area at the next opportunity.
Many thanks mate 😁👍

Jack at Royal Steering wheels can build you a flat bottomed wheel based on the original Toyota wheel.  I had my wheel done like this also had it thickened and covered in alcantara.  You send your existing wheel to him and he'll rework it.  I bought a used celica wheel on eBay and had it dropped shipped to him for a tenner so my car wasn't out of action.   Good luck!

I'm 6'1" and experienced similar issues.

I found that removing the door handle and replacing it with a strap gave me some much needed space - at least I could shift my leg position around on long journeys. It made a big difference for me!

I also went for a nice flat-bottom steering wheel from T4CS (don't think he's doing them any more) but it was more aesthetic than ergonomic - I still can't get my legs under the wheel. It was based on the original wheel. Pic in Topic 70 on the same thread.

So unless you also shift the steering wheel position and/or lower the seat, I'm not convinced you'll get the space you need under the wheel even if it's flat.

Hope it helps!
