Hi folks

Wondering if my low MAF readings are due to carbon cold air intake on 2zz swapped MR2
Those dreamweavers over at Rogue swapped the car 2 years ago (prior to my ownership). Did a superb job, but curious if the rogue intake is less 'stable' than the OEM celica intake, when used with the 2zz ECU, given the factory calibration?

Is it even possible to retro fit the OEM air intake?

Any ideas as to how to correct the MAF stability, short of an aftermarket ECU?

Recently cleaned the MAF, to no avail and keen to avoid a parts- cannon approach

You have your location as UK.

As C mentioned in your other thread swapping with a known working  MAF would be worth doing.

If you are anywhere near sunny Leicester I would be happy to swap mine in to test.

+1 on the MAF. Until you prove it isn't the maf, you just don't know.
Rogue know what they're doing obviously, so unless there's an airleak, the maf tube should be good.

The best set-up for cool air is a cone into the corner in front of the battery.  Cut the maf tube out of an o/e airbox & buy the other components & diy.

I've had the Rogue CDA air intake setup on my 2zz for a number of years now and no issues so I doubt the problem is with the general intake setup.

Great - new MAF arriving tomorrow so will swap out. Love the look of the rogue air intake, so thankful to not remove it!

I'm also interested in this topic. Can anyone tell me what the inner diameter of the Rogue intake is? And what values the fuel trims have with it? I have already tested various intakes on my 2ZZ MR2. So far, the engine runs best with the stock MR2 filterhousing and the baffles removed. The MAF housing has an inner diameter of about 65-66 mm. I ordered MAF housings from Amazon to test, but the differences are too great. One housing has 63 mm, which makes the engine run reasonably well, but slightly weaker than with the standard housing. The other has 70 mm, which is clearly too large. My fuel trims with the standard housing are slightly negative, about 5%. Therefore, I think that with a slightly larger housing, perhaps 67-68 mm, I could get a little more power.
The Car is on stock 2ZZ ECU, MWR-Header and 2,5" Exhaust.
