How to remove the door window trim seal

Is it possible to remove the door window trim seal? If so, how? Do they just pull off? I would like to try and rectify some of the paintwork issues but I need to spray right up to the seal. I'm sure I could work out another way around the problem, but it would be simpler if it just wasn't there.

I found that gently pulling on the trim seal can often be enough to remove it without damage. It helps to start at one end and work your way along. They are held in place by small push-in 'clips' every few inches.

With the right small tool, they can be gently prized out.
