Bump stop confusion

So, it just occurred to me that when I installed my suspension last week, I didn't trim any bump stops, and they were new bump stops from mr2-ben (bought nearly 6 years ago). I bought 4 of them, and they're all the same, and I've since learned the front and backs are different. I'm also confused about the orientation.

Wonder if someone can help.

First photo is a stock front strut with Tein spring that's come off my car (not installed by me). To the left of it is one of the four new bump stops I got with the plastic dust covers. These clearly are the same / almost the same. The writing is upside down, and the previous installer didn't trim these stops. This bump stop only mates with the plastic dust cover correctly when it's the other way around (with the writing on the bump stop right-way-up. Did the previous installer install these bump stops in the correct orientation, and should they have trimmed them? Or to put it another way, should I install mine in the same orientation, and should I trim it? Which side do I trim from and approx how much? (I'm thinking it should be installed with the writing correct-side up and with 20-30mm trimmed from the "bottom").

Next pic is a stock rear OEM bump stop taken from the struts I busted up to install Koni shocks. It's shown in the orientation I believe it was in on the car (fat side up). Should I use these OEM bump stops in my new rears (rather than one of the replacements I bought, that I now believe to be for the fronts)? Is the orientation correct (fat side up), and should I trim them at all?

Hopefully not to add to any confusion but my recollection is that the front bump stops appeared to need renewal  and this I did with new ones from Autodoc. The rears were pristine and so weren't replaced.
BUT, my recollection is that the front/ rear were different stops, it was a while ago and memory does not always serve well.

Quick edit won't work-
I trimmed neither front nor rear stops.

They need to be trimmed if the car is on lowering springs.

Yea, I figured they're supposed to be trimmed when fitted with lowering springs, generally. The ones I took off the car (on Tein springs  -31mm rear, -35mm front) weren't trimmed. The ones I took off the donor struts (not sure which springs) I don't think had front bump stops on at all. Rears not trimmed.

Tein apparently changed their advice from trimming to not trimming. My instructions for the Eibach pro-kit going on ( -31mm front and back) are missing, can't find them online. Read too many conflicting accounts online too.

It's all very confusing. I think I'm going to follow Carolyn and do what makes sense which is to trim them front and back. Probably by about 0.8 of an inch. Not as much as the amount it's being lowered (as some suggest).

Starting to think once trimmed and on a lowered car that probably on the front the springs would bottom out of travel before hitting the bumper anyway?

It is very confusing! You end up having to go with your gut feeling.

I trimmed my front ones down at the thin end but did not trim the rear.

The downside of trimming the thin end is that you take off the softest part which would make them more progressive if left. I did trim this end to leave more "meat" in the stops though (hence the gut feeling!). If you dont trim the front, the car will be on the bumpstop most of the time which didnt seem right to me.

PS Mr2 Ben sell parts from other cars that they know fit the 2 but dont tell you that so they can look different!
