Hello all. I hope you're all doing good and managing the heatwave OK.

So today, I noticed while driving at 60mph or so that the offside rear bumper is flapping about where it would normally be mounted to the rear arch.

Looks like the mounting lug hole is long gone. Any advice on repairing this mounting point? The retaining bolt is luckily still present.

Anyone have any experience with a repair like this?
I'm assuming I need to create a new platform of some kind to screw that bolt through.

A bit of plastic welding and a new hole should take care of it.  You'll need the bumper off the car.

That sounded expensive/ requiring a body shop or similar, but the www shows this:

NB. I do know that glass fibre and resins don't work on plastic bumpers.

Nice one folks. I'll dig in, I just didn't wanna go drilling extra holes or zip-tying anything just yet haha.
Hadn't actually ever heard of a plastic welder until today - seems a decent bit of kit.
