Making pipes to convert LHD AC condenser to fit RHD

Hi

I recently installed a good complete working AC system to my non AC car. Previous owner Dick Sloan had removed condenser to use on his new car (I knew this before purchase) so I purchased a new LHD condenser for my car. Dick & I installed the system & AC button lights up & if I turn it on (very briefly) engine note changes so all good so far.

I am in conversation with another owner, Ian, who going through same conversion but he is cleverer than me and is going to braze/weld conversion pipes but I don't feel confident enough to do this so I'm looking at 2 options.

1. Make conversion pipes using suitable compression joints for AC  & aluminium pipes.  Cost is around £100 & no special tools except for pipe cutter.

2. Get pipes made up and fit myself.


What have others done and was it successful?

I am in Surrey, so if anyone knows any companies down here that might be able to help that would be great.

I did search site for this, but gave up after going back 4 years.

Well, it looks like I'll be doing some plumbing to get mine to fit!!  I've got all the tools and a place to get fittings.

I'll be doing it over winter, so I'll post some details on here when I do the job.

Professionally made hoses?

Compression joints?

Brazing/welding?

I don't know yet.  When the car is off the road and the front bits are off, I'll figure out how I'm going to do it.

I've got a frienfly local hydraulics shop who make hoses up for me for decent money, but I don't know yet what I'll be doing.
