After reading this thread:

I thought I would pop along to my new found friends at
Toyota Attleborough (Norfolk) and see if I could persuade them to sort things out for me under the remaining warranty (first reg 11/03 on a 53 plate)
Only had my 2 a few weeks, bought used but been away on business for a while so not really had a lot of time to look into the problem till now.

Customer service = Brilliant they agreed to replace all four hubs/discs/pads and also offered to shot blast the calipers and paint them for me.

nicely impressed!
just got to decide on the colour any suggestions?

Yellow. Looks really good against the blue.

BTW, you're a lucky man to get the discs replaced, Toyota aren't supposed to be doing that anymore. At least, they wouldn't do mine...   s:( :( s:(

Yeah I know, that's what the service manager told me so I reminded him that my 2 would be coming to him for all my servicing so he said he would put the fault down to scored discs, worked like a charm bless him   s:D :D s:D

Wouldn't do mine either both times I asked. First time they cleaned up and painted the disc edge though to tidy up; roll on the replacement group buy  s:wink:  s:wink:

the rules on discs is that they wont change them unless they've had a go at skimming them. They tried to skim mine last week, failed  s:( :( s:(   cos they were too low and are now changing them all next wednesday  s:D :D s:D

Why don't you just join the Black Diamond GB and be done with this issue?  s8) 8) s8)
Sure you can live without 500hp, but it\'s languishing.

A smidge off topic here but......

One of my brake calipers looks like the one at the top of this thread. It has quite a bit of surface rust. I was intending to rub it down then paint it with hammerite (maybe the high temp stuff if I can find it). Hopefully that will help with the rust and I will have painted calipers.

Will this work?

BTW. I am going for black paint, trying to be subtle.

should do, just wire brush the surface corrosion off first
