Orbital polisher bonnet: can I wash?

I have two polishing bonnets, one terry cloth and the other some sort of synthetic buffing material, for my orbital polisher.  They both have the residue of AutoGlym polish and protectant on them.

Can I wash these bonnets in the washing machine?  Will it harm the bonnets?  More importantly, is that remaining polish going to ruin (or get all over the inside of) my washing machine?

Steve, don't really know the answer to your question, but I would guess you would be OK, if all else fails you get nice shiny clothes   s8) 8) s8)

But I would seriously consider not using an orbital polisher UNLESS you are very, very careful. They have a tendency to put swirls into the finish, and anything less than a flat surface might end up with swirls in the paintwork if the pad gives way!

Thanks, Roger.

It's a random orbital polisher.  I used it last week and was pleased to find that there were no swirl marks at all.  I did hand apply and buff the AutoGlym Extra Gloss protectant mostly because the polisher bonnets were all covered in the polish from the previous step.
