Oh My God. how much.  s:shock:  s:shock:

I just paid £234 for a 60000 mile service. Checked here and darrenjuggins got his done for
Quote£113.08 Plus Castrol RS Oil £30 (depending on when purchased!)

Hope that makes you feel better aaronjb for you 40k service.

Now for some rear disks. 75% worn apparently. I thought they were only used for the handbreak?

One thing that annoyed me, they took out my TRD filter and threw it in the bin. It's only been in there ~5000 miles. Had to drive back across Oxford in the rush hour to get it back.

And that's why I always swap out my K&N for the OEM one before I take it in for service.

youch, thats a bit steep!  s:shock:  s:shock:

goes to prove its worth while shopping around, as for the disks, they work on a 60/40 split on loading, i beleive the handbrake is a small drum style brake in the middle of the disk hub that is cable operated

do the dozy buggers not recognise a TRD filter over a disposable filter! a mate of mine has an HKS filter on his Jeep and that came with a sticker saying "do not throw this away, blah, blah, blah, you mechanical monkey"

Oh dear simon,

Seems a little steep to me (as for the Castrol RS, that went with the engine, it was a little too viscose!) Am now running Shell Stuff (Tecnical Term), I get it from Land Rover but it's what Toyota actually used, apart from mine costs me £7 for 4 Litres, whilst Toyota charges £30 ! nice !

Please before anyone asks, I can't supply it's just a perk I get for being the bosses son.

What was the breakdown Simon on your bill ?

Cheers

Hi Paul,

Seems Simon has beaten me to it:

The Dealer is Listers Toyota - Lincoln, As for Marc or Jo on Service respection.

The Technican who works on mine for me is called Paul.

They are always very helpful and always try to accomodate me with a courtesy car if available as well.

Certainly worth a visit.

Cheers

I can't really understand why there is close to 100% difference on the basic service cost between Simon's and Darren's, since they are both Toyota main dealers.

Simon, presume you used Inchcape, why not phone up incognito and ask what the cost is? If they quote the same say "no thanks I can get it at £78 from another Toyota dealer", and see what they say. If they start bringing the price down, or give a lower quote, hit them with the whammy, and ask for some money back!

It will be a couple of years before I get the chance.  s:wink:  s:wink:

I notice you had some "tank cleaner". First I have heard of this, anybody else seen, used or have comments on it?

Yep Inchcape.
I think I will let it pass and sort them out on the 70k If and when I get there.
Anyway, I am quite comfortable bent over like this with trousers round my ankles.   s:scared: :scared: s:scared:

Not sure what it is but the car was going great after the service. or perhaps that was just the impression after driving the Volvo round for the day.

Roger, I know yours is shiney and new, and you're pretty adept with a spanner, but you are getting yours serviced every year right?

Don't panic Phil, yes I am!   s:wink:  s:wink:   My 12months 10K was £118 all in at Inchcape which I reckoned at the time was probably OK.

I  was just thinking about the 60K. Not quite sure if that is the same as a 30K? So i reckoned it would be a minimum 2 years before I needed to "discuss" the price and my TRD filter with them   s:roll:  s:roll:
