I'm looking into either supercharging or putting in a turbo.  I've got a 54 plate MR2.  Any info from anyone whos done this would be great....

Hi Vegie,

Plenty of info here and at spyderchat.com, try a search.

Or even browse down a few posts eg - "C2 Power Turbo", "which turbo to choose" etc.

BTW.  Only one person in the world has managed to supercharge their Mk3 and they now have a big hole in the firewall

yep

turbo or 2ZZ (or 2ZZ + turbo, true :p) are the only "realistic" options
TRD - Cusco - C-One - Tom\'s - Amuse - Top secret - Veilside - Spoon - Blitz - Invidia
JUN - Racing Gear - APR Performance - HKS - Apexi - Project Mu - Trial

Newbies...I'm sure V8 would fit and to get best of both worlds, install a SC and a turbo...and then nitrous  s:twisted:  s:twisted:
Sure you can live without 500hp, but it\'s languishing.

I think there might be a problem with the V8 + sc + turbo + nos.  The hood might not come all the way down...

I can see this thread slipping off course, don't make me use my god like moderator powers here   s8) 8) s8)

yes m'lud, sorry, we beg your forgiveness...    s:wink:  s:wink:

but seriously, if you had the money to do a V8+sc+turbo+nos conversion, then surely you'd have the cash to have a custom engine lid made, with a wackin great bulge in the middle or something!?!!?!?!    s:lol:  s:lol:

anyway, back to the topic!    s:oops:  s:oops:

If you are serious for such power, you can get a 503E (race version of 3S-GTE) for $17,500 plus whatever shipping+taxes will be. People have already mounted 3S-GTE in our car, so it can be done.

960hp with regular pump gas, up to 1200hp with race gas, maybe more.

If you're not serious, keep on daydreaming  s:roll:  s:roll:
