Orange Peel Paint

Hello,

I've just given my new MR2 a thorough clean and noticed that the paint on the sides following the line of the side intakes looks likes it's been painted over orange peel. Is this normal? Thought I better find out if it's one of the MR2's little quirks before I take it up with Mr T.

If you mean under the door sills, that's normal.

Its under the door sills (which is underseal?) and higher up. If you imagined a line running from the bootom of the intake all along the car to the front that's where it is but not on the front or rear bumpers.

Hi Deacon,

The Orange Peel effect you notice is about 2 inches thick and follows the bottom line (Swoosh) bit of the door as said above it's underseal and is quite normal.

It has the bit on the bottom (the underseal) but then also has another area further up actually on the doors.

As do they all - this is perfectly normal.
