removing rear aftermarket grill

Hi,

I have the aftermarket grills, are they pelican or something.

It seems to be cliped into the body work.

Question is do I have to remove the rear bumper in order to remove the grill.

For the sake of the 15 minutes, and the handful of bolts required to remove it, I'd take the bumper off. I think you probabley have to anyway.

yeh looks that way i called off the job for now till I have more time.

Mainly i wanted to avoid it because of potentialy chipping the paint on the pannel while off the car, and that i only have 1 pair of hands.

Phil, have you got the grill(s) for the small top exit or the large number plate area.

If its the top one, you can definitely get it out without taking bumper off. However when I did this I found the bumper sagged in the middle of the cut out space, which meant the grill didn't sit square and nice.

So what I did was replace the OEM then tie the Pelican to it.

OK, on very close inspection you can spot it, but 3' away you can't, and it looks 100% better

seems there are clips. which on the rear clip into the panel around the outside. and on the front clip into the uprights.

Phil they are the Chrom Design ones with metal tabs that are bent to hold against the bumper.  They arer quite rigid so I don't think they are designed to be bent back and forth too many times.  I removed the bumper (very easy) to fit them originally but you could get them off without removing the bumper if you really wanted to.
