Connecting an ipod to an amp

I had a thought 2nite regarding a solution for getting an ipod (or indeed any MP3 player) up and running if you have a stock head unit.

However there is the caveat   s:cry: :cry: s:cry:   - u will need an amplifier with RCA connections - If you have this then a simple cable like the one below connected between the 2 will have u up and running!



Its a 3.5mm Jack to RCA Cable....

This would be a huge compromise as the iPoo doesn't have a proper line-out.  Sure, you can use the headphone output but at 30mW (if I am not mistaken) it will struggle.

For this reason, there are iPod docks that specifically feature a line out for connecting to a home system - such as the DSA1 from Onkyo.

its not as simple as that unfortunatley.
