Hi

I have been reading through the numerous posts on pre-cats (very useful - thanks to all) however, i have one questions i have been unable to find an answer for....

under the toyota extended warranty, would a pre cat failure be covered??  I have a 51 plate with 50k on the clock and over the last 2k it is showing signs of drinking oil   s:( :( s:(  .

I appologise if this question has been answered and ive missed it

cheers

Yep, mine was.

They did the old, "If we strip it down and it turns out be be your fault, you agree to pay for all the work"

But it was cleared by the second engineer and the work went ahead.

just considering the options regarding them really - tempted to remove them myself but not so sure how confident id be.

The oil usage on my car wasn't down to pre-cat failure, but was due to bore wear. This can be a much more expensive problem to fix.
