Was driving along beetween Aberdeen and Dundee when fifth gear stopped working it seems to be going into gear but when you rev feels like you are in nuetral no response the revs are going up but car does not drive anybody have a gearbox for sale

dont think so 3rd is a little stiff but rest working ok

Check the mechaism above the gearbox, where the shifter cables attach.

It could be that a bolt has come out or that there is a problem with one of the bushes.  Only a slight miss alignment would cause a problem.
