hi guys, loving the new car but not quite as quiet as old car, can hear a few knocks and rattels when driving, seems like one of the causes is the hard top clips.  nothing major that im worried about but wondered if anyone has only the noise of the engine to enjoy.  any tips on stopping these much appreciated

Unfortunately I never have been able to eliminate all the rattles. I have had one of the cathces changes three times by the big T but still rattles. They can be adjsuted if you want to give it a go but only move by a small amount at a time and check.

A part called "Corky's breastplate" will remove a large number of rattles. Other braces, such as Che's member braces and any of the various strut tower bars will also reduce noises. In my case, these things eliminated almost every unwanted sound. A few of the others simply disappeared on their own in time.

About those hard top clips, if you're talking about the latches, there's an adjustment screw, hexagonal type, behind the latches that you can inspect when the latches are in the unfastened position. A slight turn of the adjustment screw may be necessary in your case to stop the rattling.

For this fix, you want to be very cautious. Overtightening the latch will degrade your seals, so you want to try maybe a 1/8-inch turn on both sides and evaluate the effect. Just fix it enough without going too far. Cheers.

Corky brace made a big difference to the squeaks and rattles.  What I also found helped was having the doors dynammated.  Plus if you do this then you HAVE to get an upgrade stereo too.
