ECU 'Flash' problem ??

Hello

I dont know a lot about this but here goes...

My 2 has been in the garage for some work and now it wont start.
It seems the ECU and the keys are no longer talking to each other.  
The garage couldn't re-code it so have sent it all away to be 'flashed'.  
That was last monday morning.  

The last thing that I've been told is that the place doing the 'flashing' has had trouble
and is struggling to complete the job.  

Plan B is to fit a new ECU, new ignition, new door barrels and have a new set of keys.
I'd rather fix the original kit if possible

anyone know anything about this ?

If they're paying for it (which I think they should be, judging by the sound of your post), then I'd get new stuff all round.
