Driveshaft Failure?!

My Mk3 has recently had both a new gearbox and clutch fitted within the last few months within 60k miles.

My little baby is still not right with a horrible shuddering if i pull to the right or left in first gear!

The noise will only happen after 20 miles or a lengthy sit in traffic.

There is also a dry whir when I switch off the ignition?!

Has else had this problem?  s:? :? s:?

Sounds more like a bearing.  I haven't heard of this before on the '2 but I did have one replaced on mine because of accident damage and it wasn't pressed in correctly.

Over time the noise and shudder got worse.

It could also be worth checking you have sufficent CV grease in the drive boots
