I have a 2000 MR2 roadster and it has now done 30000 miles I went to book it in for a service and was told by toyota that I needed to have the equivilant of a 40000 mile service which included new brake fluid at extra cost of course. Please can somebody tell me whether this is really necessary?

Its basically every 10000 miles or one year, whichever comes first. I have the same problem cos I bought mine when it was 2.5 years old, but it only had 4000 miles on the clock. So, I am effectively aout a year to 18months behind what the service should be in REAL time. They are telling you the truth. Don't worry, they are not trying to rip you off. I would go with what they say, as time will eat your car as well as wear and tear......

Brake fluid degrades with time rather than miles covered I'm afraid....  s:cry:  s:cry:

Thank you,
