I was looking at some external companies to supply extended warranty (i.e. warranty direct.

Toyota's warranty is +-£650/ 2 yrs

External company £270(top plan using main dealer to do repairs)/ 1 yr

Is there any risks with these external warranty suppliers??

ANY THOUGHTS

Haven't had to do this yet, but I hope I am not stating the obvious in asking

1. Is the cover the same? If not can you live with the lower cover to save £50ish.?

2. You should try and get a like for like quote. The external MIGHT cost £450 for a second year.

3. If you went external, then wanted to go back to Toyota because it turned out to be better or longer (for example), would they accept you? I think people here have bought warranties after a non-warranty gap, but don't know the details.

Hi,

I'm on my second Toyota 2 year extension - Same cover as original 3 year cover - Got about £8,000 worth of work out it previous 2 years.... so I was pretty please with my investment in it....

Couldn't comment on how others have got on with other warranties - Liz, did you get your powersteering pump replaced under your warranty ?

Cheers
