hard drive instead of a cd/dvd changer?

got myself a pioneer 6500dvd with motorised screen etc. was looking at a dvd changer for it, but then was told about hard drives that act as a dvd/cd changer, so i could put all my music vids/mp3's on it and run them off that. my question... i've never seen these, how do i go about connecting a hard drive up to my head unit?

you cant directly, have a look at  m http://www.ssiamerica.com/ m  and do a search on Mstation

thats only for audio though, how about video?
